Lindsay Barnett’s Journey from Vision to Purpose-Driven Fashion

Updated: 5 days ago

Fashion often begins with inspiration—a muse, a culture, or a moment. For Lindsay Barnett, the youngest child of celebrated 90s designer Dehra Yvette Robinson, inspiration came from a higher calling. Raised in a home where creativity thrived, Lindsay was deeply influenced by her mother’s talent. Dehra’s designs once graced boutique racks and the Oscars red carpets, and her designs even walked the Calvin Klein runway. Watching her mother work in their home studio, Lindsay developed an early appreciation for the art of design, though she initially pursued a very different path.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine, Lindsay’s life seemed set on a course far removed from the fashion world. Then, one day, while reading her Bible, she experienced a profound moment that would change everything. She heard the words “Carry Him” and saw vivid images of footprints, logos, and clothing. Though unsure of its meaning, she picked up a pen and sketched her first design. It wasn’t perfect, and Lindsay dismissed the idea as fleeting.

But that night, something extraordinary happened. In her dreams, she saw six stunning, innovative outfits. The following day, Lindsay sketched them with clarity and purpose. Night after night, these dreams continued, filling her mind with visions of designs she felt were divinely inspired. It was clear—fashion wasn’t just a calling; it was her mission.

Determined to turn her visions into reality, Lindsay decided to equip herself with the tools to succeed. She returned to school to earn a Master’s Degree in Operations Management, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Armed with spiritual conviction and business acumen, Lindsay founded Carry Him, LLC in 2012—a faith-based apparel brand that merges style with purpose.

Carry Him’s mission is to create high-quality, inspiring clothing that enables individuals to confidently express their faith while promoting love, hope, and integrity. The brand’s vision is equally bold: to empower people to wear their beliefs and foster connections that transcend cultural, social, and economic barriers.

Carry Him isn’t just about clothing; it’s about carrying a message of love, equality, and unity. Collections like Faces of Life, Love & Humanity, and Pangea by Carry Him aim to bridge divides by emphasizing shared values. Inspired by Christ’s message, these designs encourage wearers to embody compassion and purpose daily.

“Carry Him is about more than looking good—it’s about feeling inspired, walking in love, and sharing hope with the world,” Lindsay explains.

Today, Lindsay resides in Atlanta with her husband, Terry, who leads Carry Him’s marketing and sales efforts and their three beloved dogs: Amore, Rex, and Bear. Her mother, Dehra, lives nearby and is actively collaborating on a unique collection for Carry Him’s 2025 lineup—a testament to their enduring bond.

Lindsay remains committed to sharing her faith through fashion as Carry Him grows. Plans are underway to refresh the brand’s website and business cards, reflecting the company's evolving vision. With its roots firmly planted in divine inspiration and its eyes set on the Future, Carry Him is more than a brand; it’s a movement.

When you wear Carry Him, you’re wearing more than a piece of clothing—you’re carrying a story, a message, and a purpose. Explore the latest collections and become part of a community united by faith, love, and style.
